Overall it was a really good night..

All That Jazz

So I went with Marte last night to a Jazz Show which was the presentaion for the VPRO/ Boy Edgar Prize 2006. The recipent was Benjamin Herman, a saxaphonist who has played with The New Cool Collective and The Itch amongst others. When we first got there the band C-Mon & Kypski was performing. They were amazing, 2 DJs, a Synth and a Guitarist. I've been listening to them all day today. After them The Itch performed. At first I didin't like them that much but then they got a lot better and I can now see why he won the prize. The pictures below are of The Itch.

Only one week left. So much to do! School Party tonight! Posted by Picasa

Sick

So last night was the final performance of Dario Fo at the school. I helped clean up afterwards and then went to the Cast and Crew party. I stayed out a lot later then I should've and am now paying for it (very sick.. minor flu mabye). I might have to skip the concert tommorow night because of that.

We Shall See.

Pictures from Utrecht

Was in Utrecht on Saturday. It's about a 20 minute train ride south of Amsterdam and is one of the oldest cities in Holland. I walked around for a couple hours with Syl and had lunch at a nice resturant. All in all a very nice city; a lot less touristy then Amsterdam and is has the feeling of being a lot smaller then it really is. If only it hadn't have been so cold it would've been a lot better. Here's some pictures:

Le France 5 - Verdun War Memorial

Douaumont Ossuaire:
Sitting on the ridge of Thiaumont and only a few hundred metres away from the fort, Douaumont Ossuaire contains the remains of 130,000 unknown French and German soldiers who fell on the battlefields of Verdun. Inside there are 18 Alcoves, each containing a pair of tombs. On the wall above each tomb there is an inscription showing the area of the battlefield from where the bodies were recovered. Each tomb covers an 18 cubic metre vault.

In front of the Ossuary the French National Cemetery contains the graves of 15.000 French Soldiers. As in other French cemeteries each grave is marked by a white cross with a name plate. Muslim soldiers are buried beneath a suitable gravestone
facing towards Mecca.

Le France

Well I'm back from France.. It was an awsome vacation and the place we stayed at was beautiful.. a small little village at the foot of a small mountain (about half an hour away from Verdun if anyone is familiar with Northern France). I took literally hundreds of pictures and will put a bunch up here and on deviantArt tommorow or tonight.. depending on how I feel (6 hours in a car takes a lot out of you)

Anyways I hope everyone had a good easter

My Night

Last night I went out to this music competition at the Melkweg:
It was pretty good..
Only saw a bit of the Furies, they reminded me of the Distillers a little bit.
levitation was a spitting image of INXS, right down to the leather jackets.
Karmakonga was the best out of all of them. Normally I don't like that kind of music that much.. But they put on a really good show.
Bumblb was fairly good, had a Papa Roach sound.. But better.. More ska.
Dodge This was hilarious.. Well at least to the me and the people I was with.. But a lot of people there seemed to really like them.
I liked Glenister allot.. But the guys voice was annoying at times.. Other then that they were really good.. The band was amazing.. Profile the second best one.

So all in all it was a good night.

Back to school this week.. I'll be doing presentaions as well as regular classes. Off to France on Friday for the weekend.. Can't wait for that.

Ya.. the Amstel Park basically has everything.. even a peacock.

Marte loves it.

It even has a grass maze! (In case your interested.. I won.)
